product & portfolio management

A crucial component of marketing that is essential to an organization’s success is portfolio management. In my roles at Hightower and Chef’n, I played a critical role in helping shape and maintain a strong product portfolio based on customer feedback, product lifecycle, category growth and opportunity, and more.

  • At Hightower, my role related to product portfolio management included providing guidance and recommendations on new product concepts, new categories to consider, product modifications to revive slowing sales or in response to new trends, and products and brands to discontinue or retire from the portfolio. Additionally, my team tracked the product lifecycle of our key sellers to ensure consistent growth and when necessary feedback to internal teams if sales were not trending as anticipated. In 2020, I advocated for and built the first dedicated Product Management Team with Hightower to help support the ongoing development of our product portfolio and to manage day-to-day operations for product development.

  • At Chef’n, my role focused more on providing product and category opportunities based on customer feedback and insights along with competitor research and industry trends. These insights would be shared with the design and engineering teams to explore new product concepts in the cooking space. The goal was to ensure that Chef’n offered a robust collection of quality but unique and quirky kitchen gadgets that could complete a customers kitchen.
